Games
will be played as scheduled unless the home teams club president or
his/her designee determines that a field is not playable for any
reason. Please note that coaches do not have authority to
cancel a game. If a field is determined to not be playable,
the home team coach, after being told the game has been canceled,
has the responsibility to notify the coach of the visiting team of
the cancellation of the game. The notification must be given not
less than two hours before the scheduled start of the game.
The club president has the responsibility to contact the referee
assignor to notify them the game has been canceled.
If a referee
determines that the field becomes unplayable before a game commences,
the game shall be rescheduled as a make up game. If a referee terminates
a game during the first half because a field becomes unplayable,
the entire game will be rescheduled. If a referee terminates a game
after the first half, only the second half of the game will be rescheduled.
If both coaches agree, a terminated game may be treated as a complete
game and not be rescheduled.
Games
that are to be made up are to be schedule between the coaches of
the two teams involved. Games should be made up in the week following
their cancellation. Saturday games should be made up by Wednesday
of the following week and Sunday games should be made up by the following
Thursday. Please contact the club president and or referee assignor
to have a referee scheduled for the make up game.
Make
up games take priority over practices scheduled on a particular
field. Coaches, please notify and coordinate the scheduling
of make up games with the WBYSA Field Coordinator to minimize field
use conflicts and to allow the Field Coordinator to contact other
coaches who may have scheduled practices on the field that is being
used for a make up game.
